Durga Yantra Watercolor Print by Dorje
A yantra is a sacred geometric design from the Hindu and Tibetan traditions that represents an astrological point, planet, or a deity. These designs can be used in meditation or worship at home or in temples.
Goddess of war and known as the “invincible devi” or “unconquerable force,” she combats forces that threaten peace. Although a wrathful deity she is full of compassion. In Hindu mythology she is seen riding a lion or tiger and carrying ten weapons as the most revered goddess in India. Hers is the most unique yantra because of the lack of an outer circle and the tiny blue flowers on top of the lotus petal points. To inspire a warrior goddess energy within yourself, use her mantra of OM hrim shrim dum Duragayai namaha.
